3,3-dimethyl acrylic acid (CAS 541-47-9 / also called Senecioic acid / Methyl crotonic acid / Prenic acid / 3-methyl-2-butenoic acid) is currently used in the industry.
Up to now, only oil-based 3,3-dimethyl acrylic acid is available. Moreover, oil-based, the process for production of this acid is known to be harmful to environment through reactants and effluents.
