Agglomeration as a recycling solution
We have developed a technical expertise, knowledge, test capabilities, and a new technology enabling us to propose a customized and advanced agglomeration solution for industrials.
By understanding the behavior and performance of (raw) materials and agglomerates, value is created for industrial process customers through productivity and efficiency gains, reduced dust and organic emissions, CAPEX optimization, material valorisation …

Benefits
- Increase furnace productivity
- Improve energy consumption
- Reduce dust emission
- Open the possibility of sourcing new raw materials
- Optimize waste management, circular economy
- Customized solution
Issue
Today, fine particles, by-products generated by industrial activity represent several millions of tons annually and are considered as wastes and often non-valued by-products, thus impacting the profitability of processes.
Different cases exist in practical industrial life:
- by-products can potentially be used in the process due to their composition but are not in the right shape (too small, fine, sludges...). They need to be transformed to be used but there is no existing solution currently developed.
- by-products are already reused in the process through an agglomeration process. However, this solution is not optimized and has consequences on the production process.
- by-products have a major impact on the environment. Disposal cost and environmental consideration are of importance and industrials have to find solutions to treat these materials.
Yet, no competitive alternative solution is proposed to industrials.
Solution
In order to enhance wastes, by-products and fine particles management, as well as to reduce the impact on the environment, we have developed an expertise and test capabilities to understand the behavior and performance of materials and agglomerates. This knowledge and understanding ensure the implementation of an industrial mastered agglomeration solution.
For instance, our custom solution can allow industrials to :
- Improve energy consumption
- Reduce dust emission
- Open the possibility of sourcing new raw materials
- Optimize waste management, circular economy
- Enhance process profitabilty
Implementation
1 - Understanding your process and materials
- Characterizing raw material/wastes (Granulometry, humidity, physicochemical properties, composition)
- Implementing advanced technics to measure the effect of materials and process parameters on agglomerate structuration (density, porosity, resistance, dust generation)
- Understanding the links between agglomerate characteristics and use properties performances
2 - Design of a custom solution
- Control/master/improve formulation and process in order to obtain the best agglomerates according to expected industrial, technical and economical KPIs
3 - Pilot test implementation
