Fully automated analysis for Ultrasonic NDT
New method of measurement for reliable ultrasonic testing that does not require human intervention to interpret results.

Benefits
- Reliable results
- Fully automated analysis
- No human handling and expertise needed
- Suitable for all ultrasonic ndt equipments
Issue
Ultrasonic Non-Destructive-Testing is based on the propagation of ultrasonic waves into a material to be tested for flaw detection or thickness measurement. When an incident wave crosses a discontinuity, a reflected wave is emitted and captured. This can make ultrasonic NDT more complex to accomplish on non-homogeneous materials such as alloys, multilayers, etc. A transition between two material types can be wrongly perceived as a flaw and multiple round-trip waves can make data interpretation almost impossible and results uncertain. Often, to reduce uncertainty, many measuring points are executed with the same sensor. Moreover, ultrasonic waves are manually scanned by an ultrasound expert.
Solution
To better reduce doubtful results with ultrasonic testing, we have developed a new automated software and method of measurement that automatically interprets reflected ultrasonic waves without the requirement of any input parameters. Ultrasonic NDT, therefore, becomes a more reliable technique, without the need of human intervention.
Our automated solution is especially relevant in cases where high speed inspection are needed (continuous processes) and in environments unsuitable for manual operation, such as irradiated areas, confined spaces, etc.
