Issue

For rapid simulation and analysis of the electrical equipment steady state response (low frequency), current softwares only deal with pure tetrahedral meshes to solve Maxwell's equations, which is not an optimal digital perspective. Only dealing with simple meshes leads to very long computing time and delays to get results. Moreover such softwares do not allow a full quality control of the simulation.

Solution

We have developed a new electromagnetic field simulation software dealing with hybrid meshes (tetrahedrons, hexahedrons, prisms and pyramids), thus optimizing the size of models and allowing better quality control of the simulation.

Our solution considerably reduces computation time compared to the gold standard software Maxwell® 3D:

- 2 to 5 speed-up factor for steady state simulation responses and for short transients,

- 10 to 20 speed-up factor for medium transients,

- > 30 speed-up factor for long transients.
