GINO: Geolocation Indoor N' Outdoor
The GINO system is a Wifi / GPS geolocation system, which ensures the safety of residents (retirement homes, hospital patients, etc.) while monitoring their physiological parameters. It can also used to track the location of material and equipment in these type of establishments, and in all types of warehouses as well.

Benefits
- Operation of existing wifi infrastructure
- Low-cost installation and maintenance
- Software interfaces adapted to the hospital environment
- Reduction of staff stress
- Optimization of the use of equipment
- Increased security
Issue
Today, in hospitals (our use case), and in all buildings, it is difficult to have a precise idea of the location of patients, visitors and equipment, which leads to several problems.
- Problems in locating patients involve difficulties: Where are the patients at risk? How do you find them quickly for urgent treatment?
- Problems with sharing equipment: lost, misplaced equipment, immediate need for quipment that is unavailable, warehouse logistics, etc.
- Security problems: visitor monitoring.
These problems can lead to serious consequences: the lives of patients at risk, reduced productivity, the purchase of superfluous equipment, stress... Existing geolocation systems require the installation of a dedicated infrastructure. This results in additional costs and a lack of flexibility of the chosen solution.
Solution
The GINO system, composed of several sensors and an adapted software, is an indoor/outdoor geolocation product initially developed for hospital patients that can also be placed on equipment/materials.
The GINO solution:
- Guarantees the safety of the residents of a retirement home or patients in a hospital and to track their movements.
- Ensures traceability of the location of equipment within a health care facility or warehouse
The benefits for users are:
- Increased patient safety
- Reduction of staff stress
- Optimization of costs related to staff functioning
- Optimization of staff tasks: the time saved in searching for patients can be used for tasks with added value
- Optimization of equipment/material use
Technically-speaking, GINO is composed of a box (WiFi, GPS and accelerometer intergrated), easy to carry by the resident and easy to attach to equipment.
This box is accompanied by a software to track people or equipment and an alert system for the professionals in charge. The innovative tracking by location zone preserves individual freedom.
Unlike existing commercial geolocation systems, which require the installation of a dedicated location infrastructure, our geolocation system within a building uses the existing terminals deployed for the internal IT system.
