Issue

Microbial air quality is currently analyzed using devices with certain limits. Programming operations (small interfaces, no backlighting, complex navigation, etc.) and the many traceability and manual operations required are very time consuming for the operator and can lead to errors. - “Manual” monitoring on the Petri dish or on paper (device no. and operator, temperature, hygrometry, sample volume, etc.) - Acquisition and transfer of all information into the tracing software alongside the results of the analysis of the Petri dish In addition, whilst taking the measurements the operator is not alerted to any potential errors (sudden variations in air flow, for example) which could increase the risk of taking unreliable samples.

Solution

This new biological air sampler provides a new, integrated traceability solution (tracing of the sample and data). An SD card collects all sample data and ensures they are not modified or altered after being generated: - Data, operator identifier, device n°. - Sample volume, temperature and hygrometry using sensors integrated into the device - Petri dish n° by scanning the pre-installed RFID tag - Identification of the area being analyzed by scanning the RFID tag for the corresponding collection point The SD card allows this sample data to be transferred to a monitoring tool. The analysis results are also loaded and saved in the tool to automatically connect them to the sample data to facilitate their interpretation. Samples can be traced and monitored more simply and reliably. This new biological air sampler is also designed to be more intuitive and ergonomic by allowing the sampling schedule to be programmed directly through the computer software or through the backlit touchscreen on the device. Sample-taking can be quickly launched from the home screen and the 360⁰ indicator light indicates its status from a distance (time-delay set, sampling in progress, sampling complete, erroneous sample) minimizing the time needed to use the device.
